What to do on the day of your first treatment

The initial consultation for new patients includes a diagnosis and the first treatment, it takes one and a half hours, but please allow two hours.

Please arrive 10 minutes early so you are rested and the pulses will give a true picture when your treatment begins.

Ideally arrive with your stomach neither full nor empty.

Wear Loose fitting closing ~ your acupuncture treatment will ALWAYS end with points below the knee or below your elbows.

Your initial consultation and treatment involves taking your history, asking a range of questions feeling the radial pulse on your wrist and of course your reason for seeking help amongst many other diagnostic .

The acupuncture treatment is the inserting of needles into specific points of your body a few millimetres under the surface of the skin, which are then usually rotated 180° and removed immediately.

Subsequent treatments last approximately forty minutes to one hour but always give an hour.

Cancellations within 48 hours of the appointment are charged at half the relevant fee.

Private Medical Insurance
If you have private medical insurance, please contact your insurer before your consultation, to check the terms of your policy, particularly the level and type of cover you have, including any reimbursement limits on individual consultation fees. Please note you are responsible for any fees not covered by your insurer.
